This session will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of automatic speech recognition (ASR) solutions currently found in many of the tools we all use. From Zoom to Powerpoint, vendors are now offering both live and post-production captioning solutions which are convenient but also problematic. We will explain the benefits and drawback of these solutions, options for greater accuracy, and experiences from our colleagues across the state. We will also give an overview of the state-wide captioning contract current in place which is available to all higher ed institutions, as well as K-12 systems, and more.
